Feedback via Slack

Branco collects feedback through an automated Slack bot. You'll receive short messages in Slack asking about your goals, skills, and growth — and your peers will receive similar prompts about you.

What to expect

You'll get two types of messages from the Branco bot:

1. Peer feedback (about others)

  • The bot asks you quick questions about a teammate's contributions, skills, or competencies.
  • Sent once per week at most.
  • Takes 1–2 minutes to respond.

2. Self-reflections (about yourself)

  • The bot sends short prompts focused on your own progress, growth, and development.
  • Sent every two weeks.
  • A chance to pause and think about how things are going.
Don't overthink your responses

Branco's AI automatically summarizes and analyzes feedback, so your responses can be quick, informal, and unpolished. Just answer honestly — the AI does the heavy lifting of turning your words into structured insights.

It's okay to skip

If the bot asks you about something you don't have visibility into or don't feel qualified to comment on, you can reply "skip this one" and the bot will move on. It's better to skip than to guess.

What the bot looks like

The Branco bot appears as a direct message in Slack. A typical conversation might go:

Branco — "Hi, I'm here to gather some feedback to support your growth. Let's discuss the team's objective. Could you share how you feel you've contributed recently?"

You(share a quick, honest response)

Branco(acknowledges and may ask a follow-up)

That's it. The whole exchange takes a couple of minutes, and your responses flow directly into Branco — powering your Feedback Hub, Dashboard, My Career, and more.

Where does the feedback go?

Everything you share (and everything shared about you) shows up in the Feedback Hub:

  • Received tab — Feedback your peers and manager have given about you.
  • Provided tab — Feedback you've given about others.
  • Self tab — Your self-reflections.

You can toggle "High quality only" to filter for the most substantive entries.

Your feedback about others is confidential

When you give feedback about a teammate, they see the aggregated insights (skill scores, trends, summaries) but not your individual responses attributed to you. This is designed to encourage honest, candid feedback.

What you should do

  • Respond when the bot messages you — Even a short reply is better than ignoring it.
  • Be honest — The AI works best with candid input, not polished corporate-speak.
  • Give feedback about others — It's a two-way street. The more feedback flowing through the system, the better it works for everyone.
  • Do your self-reflections — They show engagement and self-awareness, and they feed into your career and action plan data.
